REPURCHASE OF SHARES

The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc announces that on 19 March 2001 the Company
purchased for cancellation 26,134 ordinary shares of 10p at a price of
105.00p.

Following this purchase there are now 40,086,980 ordinary shares of 10p in
issue.
