BARING EMERGING EUROPE TRUST PLC

At the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 20 September 1999 the
Chairman announced that due to a severe health problem Massimo Camilletti-
Domenichetti could not continue as a Director of The Baring Emerging Europe
Trust plc. The resolution proposing Mr Camilletti-Domenichetti's re-election
as a Director was therefore withdrawn at the Annual General Meeting.
