Investment Manager

The Board of Baring Emerging Europe PLC has been advised by Baring Asset Management
("BAM") that Stuart Richards, the Company's portfolio manager, will be leaving BAM in
October 2006. The Board is reviewing with BAM the management arrangements for the
Company, and will make a further announcement in due course. Stuart Richards will
continue to manage the portfolio during his notice period.
