The Company was notified on 29 November 2000 that a trust of
which Sir Brian Jenkins is a trustee and in which he has a
non beneficial interest, holds 26,300 ordinary shares in
Barclays PLC.

In addition to the above interest Sir Brian Jenkins has a
beneficial interest, in 74 ordinary shares in Barclays
PLC.
