Barclays PLC 12 August 2004 August 12, 2004 BARCLAYS APPOINTS LEIGH CLIFFORD AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Barclays PLC and Barclays Bank PLC today announce that Leigh Clifford (age 56) has been appointed to the Boards of Barclays PLC and Barclays Bank PLC as a non-executive director, with effect from 1 October 2004. Mr Clifford is Chief Executive of Rio Tinto and has spent his entire career with the Rio Tinto Group.
