                    Market Purchase of Company's Own Shares





Notification is given that pursuant to the authority granted at the Annual
General Meeting of the Company held on 24 February 2006 to make market purchases
of the Company's own shares of 25p, a market purchase of 61,457 ordinary shares
in the capital of the Company was made today at a price of 411.4472p per share.



The issued share capital of the Company following this purchase is 116,265,587
ordinary shares of 25p each.  The above figure is to be used as the denominator
for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights.
