                         Annual General Meeting held on

                            Friday 24 February 2006





The Bankers Investment Trust PLC announces that at the Annual General Meeting
held earlier today all resolutions proposed were duly passed, two of which were
special resolutions, including a special resolution that the Company be
generally authorised to make market purchases of its own ordinary shares up to a
maximum of 14.99% equivalent to 17,687,180 ordinary shares.



The Company also announced the retirement of Michael Moule with effect from the
close of the Annual General Meeting.  The Board wishes to thank Michael for his
valuable contribution as a director for the past 24 years.
