                         Annual General Meeting held on

                           Wednesday 27 February 2008


The Bankers Investment Trust PLC announces that at the Annual General Meeting
held earlier today all resolutions proposed were duly passed, six of which were
special resolutions, including a special resolution that the Company be
generally authorised to make market purchases of its own ordinary shares up to a
maximum of 14.99% equivalent to 17,007,781 ordinary shares.



The full text of the resolutions can be found in the Notice of Meeting contained
in the Report and Accounts, copies of which are available for viewing at the
Document Disclosure Department of the Financial Services Authority.



The Company also announces the retirement from the Board of Mr James Morley with
effect from the close of today's Annual General Meeting.  The Board would like
to thank Mr Morley for his valued contributions to the Company.
