THE BANKERS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC PAYS FIRST INTERIM DIVIDEND FOR THE YEAR ENDING
                                31 OCTOBER 2005



The Bankers Investment Trust PLC has declared a first interim dividend of 1.94p
per ordinary share net (2004: 1.83p) in respect of the year ending 31 October
2005 payable on 31 May 2005 to shareholders registered on 29 April 2005. The
Company's shares go ex-dividend on 27 April 2005.
