THE BANKERS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC PAYS FIRST INTERIM DIVIDEND FOR THE YEAR ENDING
                                31 OCTOBER 2007



The Bankers Investment Trust PLC has declared a first interim dividend of 2.52p
per ordinary share net (2006: 2.22p) in respect of the year ending 31 October
2007 payable on 31 May 2007 to shareholders registered on 27 April 2007.  The
Company's shares go ex-dividend on 25 April 2007.
