THE BANKERS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC PAYS THIRD INTERIM DIVIDEND FOR THE YEAR ENDING
                                31 OCTOBER 2004

The Bankers Investment Trust PLC has declared a third interim dividend of 1.83p
per ordinary share net (2003: 1.74p) in respect of the year ending 31 October
2004 payable on 30 November 2004 to shareholders registered on 29 October 2004.
The Company's shares go ex-dividend on 27 October 2004.
