THE BANKERS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC PAYS THIRD INTERIM DIVIDEND FOR THE YEAR
ENDING 31 OCTOBER 2001


The Bankers Investment Trust PLC has declared a third interim dividend of
1.64p per ordinary share net (2000: 1.55p) in respect of the year ending 31
October 2001 payable on 30 November 2001 to shareholders registered on 26
October 2001. The Company's shares go ex-dividend on 24 October 2001.
