MATERIAL FACT

As per continuation of the material fact announcement published this morning, Banco Santander, S.A. announces that the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (Spanish National Securities Markets Commission) has resolved to suspend trading of its shares as well as those of Banco Español de Crédito, S.A. ("Banesto") until the decision to be made by Banco Santander's Board of Directors is made public.
