Following news released by the media today, Banco Comercial Portugues announced
that it is not currently engaged in any talks with Bankgesellschaft Berlin AG,
with whom it had discussed the exploring of joint initiatives in Central
European markets. Furthermore, it informs that BCP does not intend to exchange
shareholdings with that bank.
