Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company') received notice from Fidelity Investments
today that that consequent upon disposals of the Company's ordinary shares, the
non-beneficial interest of Fidelity International Limited ('FIL') and its direct
and indirect subsidiaries in the ordinary share capital of the Company is no
longer notifiable, as it now represents less than 3% of such capital.  This also
applies to the previously notifiable interest of Mr Edward C. Johnson III,
principal shareholder of FIL.
