Following the merger of Lloyds TSB Group Plc and HBOS plc, Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company') received notice today from Lloyds Banking Group Plc ('Lloyds') that Lloyds now holds 34,097,860 ordinary shares in the Company, representing 7.13% of the total voting rights of the Company.

Of the 34,097,860 ordinary shares, the Company has been advised that 1.04% comprise a direct interest in the Company's total voting rights and that 6.09% comprise an indirect interest in the Company's total voting rights.
