On 11 July 2008, Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company') received notice from M & G Investment Management Limited, on behalf of Prudential plc ('Prudential') and certain of its subsidiary companies, that Prudential holds a direct interest in 3.08% of the Company's total voting rights, which includes 3.03% of the Company's total voting rights in which its subsidiary company, The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, is also directly interested.
