Balfour Beatty plc ("the Company") has received notice from M & G Investment Management Limited, on behalf of Prudential plc ("Prudential") and certain of its subsidiary companies, informing the Company that Prudential now holds an overall interest in 5.00% of the Company's total voting rights (50p Ordinary Shares in the Company).

The Company has also been advised that Prudential's overall interest includes the interests of the following subsidiary company of Prudential, which is also interested in the same 50p Ordinary Shares in the Company:

The Prudential Assurance Company Limited (wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential plc): 3.79%
