Balfour Beatty plc ('the Company') today received notice that while The
Capital Group Companies, Inc., through its investment management company
affiliates, continues to have an interest in the ordinary share capital of the
Company, it has now ceased to be a notifiable interest for the purposes of
Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 since it now represents less than 10% of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital.'
