Balfour Beatty PLC 31 May 2006 31st May 2006 Balfour Beatty Plc - Non-Executive Directors ============================================= Balfour Beatty, the international engineering construction and services group announces today the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors with effect from 1st July 2006. Mike Donovan, who is 53, has an engineering background and was most recently Chief Operating Officer of Marconi plc from 2001 to 2005, having previously been Chief Executive Officer of Marconi Systems. Prior to his time at Marconi he was responsible for managing major divisions of British Aerospace, Vickers and the Rover Group. Much of this experience has involved management responsibility for major enterprises in the US, where he resides. Stephen Howard, also 53, and a lawyer by background was most recently Group Chief Executive of Novar plc. Prior to that he had a long successful career with the Cookson Group plc, the last seven years as Chief Executive. He is a Non-Executive Director of Slough Estates and is Managing Director of Business in the Community. Balfour Beatty also announces that Chalmers Carr, who has been a Non-Executive Director since 2003, is to retire from the board on 31st August 2006, the expiry of his three year appointment.
