In compliance with paragraph 16.4 (a) of the Listing Rules, Balfour Beatty plc
('the Company') confirms that Sir David John, who, as previously announced,
was appointed a director of the Company on 15 August 2000, is currently a
director of The BOC Group plc and Premier Oil PLC, and that during the last
five years he has held directorships of British Biotech PLC and Inchcape PLC.
There are no details to be disclosed under paragraph 16.4 (b) of the Listing
Rules.
