BALFOUR BEATTY WORKPLACE ACQUIRES

COLLEDGE TRUNDLE AND HALL

Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction, services and investment Group, announces today that Balfour Beatty WorkPlace, formerly known as Haden Building Management and a market leader in the provision of facilities management and M&E services to both the private and public sectors, has acquired Colledge Trundle and Hall Limited (CTH), which specialises in the design and installation of automatic energy control systems for buildings, for a consideration of £2.85 million cash.

CTH operates in a number of markets that are complementary to Balfour Beatty WorkPlace's core business.  Its customers include DEFRA, Sainsbury's and the University of Cambridge and, in addition, it is working on a number of PFI schools projects.

The acquisition will enable Balfour Beatty WorkPlace to expand its service in the more complex market of energy management.

Balfour Beatty WorkPlace was re-branded last month to reflect its position as a total facilities management provider. Its customers include British Energy, Royal Mail, the Metropolitan Police Authority, the Department for Work and Pensions and BT.

Ian Tyler, Balfour Beatty Chief Executive, said:

'I am delighted to welcome CTH to the Balfour Beatty Group. This acquisition further strengthens the energy management capability available to our customers.'

In October 2007, Balfour Beatty acquired Covion, the facilities infrastructure services business, for £33 million. The acquisition extended the Group's reach in facilities management with Covion's integrated service packages and private sector presence complementing Balfour Beatty WorkPlace's strengths in public sector markets.
