Purchase of own Shares


Schroder UK Growth Fund plc (the 'Company') announces that on 12 December 2006
the Company purchased 3,250,000 shares at a price of 131.50 pence per share to
be held in treasury.  This purchase will reduce the number of shares in issue to
159,925,900 (excluding 3,250,000 shares held in treasury).
