PURCHASE OF SHARES FOR CANCELLATION
Schroder UK Growth Fund plc announces that on 13 August 1999, the Company
purchased 1,200,000 shares for cancellation at a price of 142 pence per share.
Following the purchase, there are a further 223,313,340 shares in issue.
