                           Purchase of Own Securities


On 4 September 2002, the Company purchased for cancellation 200,000 ordinary
shares at a price of 98.25p, bringing the total number of ordinary shares bought
back to 515,000.

There remain 63,135,000 ordinary shares in issue.
