                           Purchase of Own Securities

On 22 March 2002, the Company purchased for cancellation 140,000 ordinary shares
at a price of 109.50p, bringing the total number of ordinary shares bought back
to 315,000.

There remain 63,350,000 ordinary shares in issue.
