Witan Pacific Investment Trust plc (the 'Company')


Purchase of own securities

The Board of the Company announces that it has today made a market purchase of
1,250,000 ordinary shares of twenty-five pence each in the capital of the
Company (SEDOL No.0365602), representing 1.50% of the current issued ordinary
share capital of the Company, for cancellation at a price of 152.5 pence per
ordinary share.

Following cancellation, 81,818,339 ordinary shares in the Company will remain in
issue.
