New Organisation Plans After Merger with Marconi

British Aerospace PLC 4 November 1999 British Aerospace new Organisation British Aerospace today announced plans for a new programmes-led organisation following the anticipated completion of its merger with Marconi Electronic Systems. Following completion of the merger, which is subject to shareholder approval and regulatory clearance, the new Board's team of executive directors will comprise John Weston as chief executive and George Rose as finance director. Sir Charles Masefield will become group marketing director and Michael Lester group legal director. Two chief operating officers, Mike Turner and Peter Gershon, will be responsible for the business operations of the new company reporting to Mr Weston. The new organisation, will create a single, seamless company with common processes across the new, merged, company.
