Full Industrial launch of Airbus A380 programme
BAE SYSTEMS, with its partner European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company
(EADS), have agreed the full industrial launch of the Airbus A380 programme,
formerly known as A3XX.
Today's decision, by the Airbus Industries supervisory board, follows strong
airline interest in the new large aircraft. Firm orders for 50 A380 aircraft,
with options for 42, have been achieved to date.
