Board Appointment

The Board of BAE Systems plc has today appointed Nick Rose as a non-executive director of the Company.

Nick Rose is the Chief Financial Officer and a director of Diageo plc, the world's leading premium drinks business.  He was appointed to this position in 1999 and, in addition to his finance responsibilities, he is responsible for supply, procurement, strategy and IT on a global basis.    

Dick Olver, Chairman of BAE Systems said:  "We are very pleased that Nick has agreed to join the BAE Systems' Board.  He has excellent global business expertise and boardroom experience that will be a great asset to us and further strengthen our board."

Nick Rose joined Grand Metropolitan, Diageo's predecessor company, in June 1992, initially as group treasurer and progressed through a number of roles to his current Board level position.  Previously, he spent eleven years with Ford Finance.

He is a former non-executive director of Möet Hennessy SNC and Scottish Power plc.

He has no details to disclose under paragraph 9.6.13 of The Listing Rules.
