In accordance with the Transparency and Disclosure Rules, Threadneedle Asset
Management Holdings Limited has notified Babcock International Group PLC ('the
Company') that on 11 October 2007 Ameriprise Financial Inc. and its group (of
which Threadneedle Asset Management Holdings Limited is the ultimate
intermediate holding company in the UK) had an overall interest in 11,483,477
shares of the Company, representing 5.01% of the total voting rights.
