Avon Rubber PLC 20 September 2004 20 September 2004 AVON RUBBER p.l.c. PURCHASES REMAINING SHARE OF BELL AVON Avon Rubber p.l.c. (Avon) announces the purchase of the remaining shareholding in Bell Avon, Inc from Textron, Inc. (Textron) for a total cash consideration of US$1.4 million. Bell Avon was formed in 1984 as a joint venture with Textron and is now a wholly owned subsidiary operating within Avon's Technical Products division. It is the only company in the Avon group to specialise in flexible fabrications. Bell Avon is based in Picayune, Mississippi, USA and their principal products are hovercraft skirt systems and flexible tanks for the temporary storage of water and fuel for the US armed forces. For now, the company will continue to trade under the name Bell Avon, Inc., but a new name will be adopted in due course.
