Aviva PLC 06 May 2003 6 May 2003 AVIVA APPOINTS TWO NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS Aviva plc ('Aviva') has appointed two new independent Non-Executive Directors. Mrs Anna Catalano (43) is Group Vice President Marketing of BP plc. Mrs. Catalano is American and brings both international business and marketing experience. Ms Carole Piwnica (45) is non-executive Vice Chairman, Government Affairs, Tate & Lyle plc and a lawyer admitted to the Bar in New York and in Paris. Ms. Piwnica is Belgian and brings both business experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment in the European Union. The appointments will take effect from 8 May 2003. As previously announced, Sir Michael Partridge, an independent non-executive director will retire from the Board on 7 May 2003.
