                     AVIVA PLC - APPLICATION TO LIST SHARES

Application has been made by Aviva plc (the 'Company') for the blocklisting of
2,688,001 ordinary shares of 25 pence each in the Company to be admitted to the
Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock
Exchange. These shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares.

These ordinary shares are to be issued as a result of future exercise of options
under the following employee share option schemes:
