Equities Index Unsecured Loan Stock 2013

British Empire Securities and General Trust plc announces that, in accordance with the provisions of the Trust Deed governing the Equities Index Unsecured Loan Stock 2013 (the Loan Stock), the Company will repay the Capital Value and the final interest amount for the quarter ending 31 March 2013 on 15 April 2013 to holders on the register at the close of business on 28 March 2013.

The Capital Value is calculated in respect of one unit of Loan Stock as the higher of 10 per cent of its nominal amount of £1.74338 and the Index number at the date of calculation divided by 1,000 expressed in pounds and rounded up to five decimal places. 

The Capital Value rate, calculated in accordance with the above is £3.38064 per unit, equivalent to £3,380.64 per 1,000 units of stock.

The rate of interest (gross of income tax) for the quarter ended 31 March 2013 is 3.171 pence per unit, equivalent to £31.71 per 1,000 units of stock.

It is the Company's intention to submit a request for the cancellation of the listing of the Loan Stock pursuant to LR 5.2.8 in due course.
