          Confirmation of existing World Trade Centre ('WTC') estimate


Amlin plc notes the announcement made by Cox Insurance Holdings Plc on 22
January 2002 in connection with claims arising from the WTC terrorist
atrocities.


Amlin has continued to monitor the WTC situation and confirms that it is
maintaining its existing estimate, on the basis set out in the Company's listing
particulars dated 20 December 2001, of a net loss to Amlin arising from these
events of £60 million before tax.
