Amlin plc ('Amlin') announces that it has purchased the following number of its
ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each on the London Stock Exchange via ABN AMRO
Bank NV.

Date of purchase: 26 March 2008

Number of ordinary shares purchased: 300,000

Highest price paid per share: 264.75p

Lowest price paid per share: 264.75p

Volume weighted average price paid per share: 264.75p

Amlin intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury.

Following the purchases of these shares, Amlin holds 1,810,000 of its ordinary
shares in treasury and has 476,291,946 ordinary shares in issue (excluding
treasury shares).
