Amlin PLC 19 October 2000 Immediate 19 October 2000 AMLIN PLC REORGANISES IN PREPARATION FOR GROWTH Amlin plc (Amlin), the insurance group, today released details of a major streamlining of its underwriting operations as part of its strategy to be recognised as one of the leading insurance businesses in the London market. Amlin is reorganising to optimise its use of reinsurance and underwriting resource by operating through four divisions organised by class of business. The divisions will use the existing Amlin business brands, as follows: Harvey Bowring - Catastrophe excess of loss reinsurance (combining the Harvey Bowring and Coles reinsurance businesses), international commercial property and liability insurance and reinsurance, and accident and health. Coles - London market marine insurance, incorporating the Walker and Coles marine businesses. Amlin Aviation - All classes of international aviation business Amlin Insurance Services - UK motor, property and liability insurance.
