Notifications of interests in shares



Amlin has received the following notifications of reduced percentage interests
in its ordinary shares of 25p each ('Shares') , all of which have resulted from
the recent completion of its Rights Issue.  The number of Shares in issue is now
268,122,993.



One Beacon Insurance Company



One Beacon Insurance Company's beneficial interest in 14,980,861 Shares now
represents 5.59% of Amlin's Shares in issue (previously 7.18%).



R J R Keeling



Mr R J R Keeling no longer has a notifiable interest in Amlin Shares of 3.0% or
more (previously 3.02%).



Rostrum partnerships



The partners in the Rostrum Investors limited partnerships have notifiable
interests by virtue of Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 in a total of
18,238,186 Shares, representing 6.80% of Amlin's Shares in issue.  The previous
such notification was of 17,360,240 Shares, which represented 8.32% of Amlin's
Shares in issue prior to the Rights Issue.



Disclosures have been received in respect of these Shares from the following
limited partners:  Rostrum Limited, Enco Nominees Limited, BriTel Fund Trustees
Limited ('Britel'), Possfund Custodian Trustee Limited ('Possfund'), British
Airways Pension Trustees Limited ('British Airways Pensions'), Stargas Nominees
Limited ('Stargas') and Kleinwort Benson (Jersey) Trustees Limited (the latter
both as a limited partner and as trustee of the Rostrum Group Trust).
Disclosures have also been received in respect of the same 18,238,186 Shares
from Mr Michael Wade (by reason of his effective shareholding in Rostrum
Limited) and from Northwestern Mutual (by reason of Rostrum Group Limited,
Rostrum Limited and Enco Nominees Limited being its subsidiary companies).



By virtue of Sections 204 and 205 of the Companies Act 1985, Britel, Possfund,
British Airways Pensions and Stargas are interested in 13,461,103 (5.02% of
Amlin's Shares in issue), 14,936,633 (5.57%), 16,520,329 (6.16%) and 9,796,493
(3.65%) Shares respectively, all such interests being over parts of the
18,238,186 Shares referred to above.



The Shares referred to in the notifications from the Rostrum Investors partners
are held as follows:

            KB (CI) Nominees Ltd              10,297,470

            Stargas Nominees Ltd               5,890,776

            Possfund Nominees Ltd                819,315

            BriTel Fund Nominees Ltd           1,214,518

    (In addition Britel has 16,107 shares out on loan to a third party.)



Finally, Rostrum Group Limited has disclosed an interest under Part VI of the
Companies Act in the 10,297,470 Shares referred to above which are held by KB
(CI) Nominees Ltd.  This disclosure is by virtue of Rostrum Group Limited being
entitled to exercise control over the voting rights conferred by such Shares.
