Amlin plc announces that in the fourth 1999 Lloyd's capacity auction it has
purchased £18.7 million of capacity on its managed syndicates at an average
price of 7.2p per £ of capacity.

Through the 1999 auctions to date Amlin has now purchased £72.5m of capacity
and increased its share of capacity on its managed syndicates from 38% to 52%.
There are two auctions remaining in 1999.
