                         APPLICATION FOR LISTING

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the block listing of
1,600,000 Amlin plc Ordinary Shares of 25p each fully paid, ranking, when
issued, pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares, to
be admitted to the Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange. 
These shares will be allotted pursuant to the exercise of options under the
Amlin Unapproved Share Option Scheme 1997, the Amlin Approved Share Option
Scheme 1997 and the Amlin 1998 Savings-Related Share Option Scheme.
