           ABF Completes Sale of Ice Cream Business.

Associated British Foods, the international food, ingredients
and retail group, announced today (Monday May 8th) the
completion of the sale of its ice cream business, Allied
Frozen Foods,  to Richmond Foods plc.

The Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has confirmed
that the sale will not be referred to the Competition
Commission and Richmond shareholders approved the acquisition
at their Extraordinary General Meeting on 2nd May.
