Appointment of New Director


Edinburgh Dragon Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Allan
Mckenzie as an independent non-executive Director to the Board, with effect from
1 September 2006.


Mr Allan Mckenzie is currently Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at
Blackrock International Limited.  He is a director of Blackrock Global Series
plc (listed on the Irish stock exchange).   He is a former director and chairman
of the Thailand International Fund Limited.  Between 1972 and 1991 he was
actively involved in fund management, specialising in Asian equity markets.
Since 1991 his role has been in marketing and client relationship management at
both Scottish Widows Investment Management and Blackrock International Limited.



Mr Mckenzie currently has no beneficial interests in the shares of the Company.



There are no disclosures required under Section 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing
Rules.
