STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

                 BOARD APPOINTMENT AT EDINBURGH DRAGON TRUST PLC


The  board  of Edinburgh Dragon Trust is pleased to announce the appointment  of
Anthony  Lowrie as a non-executive director of the company with  effect  from  4
October 2004.

Mr  Lowrie, who is 62 has been involved in Asian investment for over  30  years;
originally  with Hoare Govett, subsequently HG Asia and currently is a  managing
director in ABN Amro Bank

He is also currently a director of JD Weatherspoon and Thai Europe Fund.

There  are no details on Mr Lowrie which require to be disclosed in relation  to
paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules
