ASHTEAD GROUP PLC
The Group announces that it plans to provide details of its strategic review
at the same time as releasing its interim results for the six months ended 31
October 1999. Accordingly, the Board anticipates making an appropriate
announcement on both subjects during the week commencing 31 January, but in
any case no later than the middle of February.
