Resignation and Appointment of Directors

In its circular to shareholders dated 5 May, 2000 (the 'Circular') Ashtead Group
plc ('Ashtead') announced that Alan Anderson would leave the Company in the
summer of 2000 and be replaced by Ian Robson.  The Company now confirms that the
change took effect on 26 June 2000.
