                                  Sale Update


Further to Ascent's announcement on 25 October 2007, the Company is pleased to
announce that, on 12 November 2007, the shareholders of Leni Gas and Oil plc 
('Leni Gas and Oil') approved the acquisition of the entire issued share capital
of Ascent's wholly owned subsidiary Compagnine Petrolifera De Sedano. The
transaction remains conditional on the issue and allotment of 8 million ordinary
shares of 0.05p each in the capital of Leni Gas and Oil which is expected to
take place by 15 November 2007.
