                SECURE TRUST BANKING GROUP PLC ('Secure Trust') 

                    RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING 

   PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF OLD MUTUAL SECURITIES LIMITED (the 'Acquisition')


At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today, the Ordinary 
Resolution to approve the Acquisition and authorise the Directors to implement 
the Acquisition was passed.

Completion of the Acquisition remains conditional on, inter alia, receipt of 
regulatory clearance for the Acquisition from the FSA. The Acquisition is 
expected to complete on or around 31 December 2002.
