                          APPOINTMENT OF NEW BROKER


The Board of Secure Trust Banking Group PLC ('Secure Trust') announces that it
has appointed Arbuthnot Securities Limited ('Arbuthnot') as its sole corporate
stockbroker with immediate effect.


Arbuthnot is a subsidiary of Secure Trust and the Board concluded that it was
well placed to provide high quality corporate broking services to the Group, a
practice which is also followed by a number of other listed companies with
stockbroking subsidiaries.
