 Recommended cash offer for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of
    Trace Group plc ('Trace') by Microgen plc ('Microgen' or the 'Company')

                            Class 1 Circular Posted

Further to the announcement on 25 May 2007 by Microgen regarding the recommended
cash offer for Trace (the 'Offer') and the posting of the Offer Document on 1
June 2007, Microgen announces that a circular to shareholders concerning the
making of the Offer and containing notice of an extraordinary general meeting of
the Company (the 'EGM') to approve the Offer has been posted to Microgen's
shareholders today.

The EGM is to be held at Fleet House, 3 Fleetwood Park, Barley Way, Fleet,
Hampshire, GU51 2QJ at 9.00 a. m. on Monday, 25 June 2007.

A copy of the circular is available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's
Document Viewing Facility at 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14
5HS.
